Honesty (Poem)

Don’t always choose honesty,

Don’t tell me I look fat because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me I look skinny because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me I look ugly because I don’t like that honesty,

For instance, don’t tell me I look ugly when I cry because I don’t like that honesty.

Don’t tell me another girl looks better than me because I don’t like that honesty.

Don’t tell me you hate me because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me someone else hates me because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me all the cruel words someone else is saying about me because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me your cruel words because I don’t like that honesty.

Don’t tell me you don’t love me when I say I love you because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me I’m not lovable because I don’t like that honesty,

Don’t tell me goodbye because I don’t like honesty,

Don’t tell me I’m the reason you’re leaving because I don’t like that honesty,

Truthfully, I won’t ever like hurtful honesty.
