Arguing (Poem)

I dislike arguing,

I rather walk away,

Yet there are times when I’ll choose arguing,

There are times when I won’t walk away,

It has to be a good reason for me to choose arguing.

I’ll argue with you when something feels really wrong,

I’ll argue with you when it’s a good cause,

I won’t walk away or keep quiet if something feels wrong,

I won’t walk away or keep quiet if it’s a good cause,

Yet I’m careful when choosing to fight for a good cause or when something feels wrong.

I’ll watch you reactions to see if you’ll become physically violent,

I grew up around bad neighborhoods,

I learned that you have to be careful of people who’ll get physically violent,

There had been killings around the neighborhoods,

Thus, you’ll have to find a different way of dealing with people who can get physically violent.
