Words (Poem)

Fear of words have me saying, “I don’t want to hear it,”

La la la is what my mouth feels like saying,

My hands are ready to cover my ears so I won’t hear it,

I don’t want to hear what you’re saying,

I’ll turn into a witch if you force me to hear it.

The worst side of me comes out when the words make me afraid,

The scars of when I was bullied still remain,

Perhaps you might find it silly that certain words make me afraid,

Perhaps you’ll never understand the scars that have remained,

I guess you might never understand why I become a witch when the words make me afraid.

Let’s talk about this isn’t something I can say,

I know we should talk like an adult,

Sorry, I don’t always know how to always act like an adult when I’m afraid of what you’ll say,

I just know that it’s sometimes easier to act like a child instead of an adult,

So sorry, but na na na I’m not going to listen to what you have to say.
