Secret Love (Poem)

I was a secret,

Hidden from the other women,

Behind closed doors you made it seem I wasn’t a secret,

In public you were known as a single man to other women,

Thus, we always argued because I knew you were keeping me a secret.

I wanted a man who told other women that he’s taken,

I didn’t want a man who only told me that he’s taken,

Still you got angry when I insisted that you show the world that you were taken,

It wasn’t fair that I was the only one telling the world, “I’m taken,”

Thus, we eventually stopped being taken.

Then one day I met my current love,

He didn’t turn me into a secret love,

It’s a true love,

The world knows about our love,

I am a wife to my love.
