Strong Even if I Cry (Poem)

Listening to a goodbye song,

Sipping some water instead of liquor,

Feeling the pain deeply with this emotional slow song,

Not looking to forget you temporarily with the liquor,

All I want to do is heal with the tears and this song.

I don’t want to deal with the pain with prescribed medication,

I don’t want to deal with the pain with illegal drugs,

I’m not  a coward who needs prescribed pain medication,

I’m not a coward who needs illegal drugs,

I’m a strong person who’ll scream and cry without drugs and medication.

I’ll cry and say, “Oh how I miss you,”

I’ll cry and say, “It hurts to be without you,”

I’ll cry and say, “I don’t want to lose you,”

Yes, I’m still strong even if I cry because of you,

Yet there’s no way in hell I’ll destroy myself because of you.
