Anger and Sleep (Poem)

Angry at him,

He’s sleeping peacefully,

Thinking of ways to wake him,

How dare he sleep peacefully,

How dare he sleep when I’m angry at him.

I put the music loud so he can wake up,

He keeps on sleeping,

I stomp my feet so he can wake up,

He keeps on sleeping,

I even roll on the bed so he can wake up.

I finally succeed in waking him up,

I look at him with anger in my eyes,

He looks confused after waking up,

He can barely open his eyes,

He doesn’t even know why I woke him up.

That’s what he puts up with,

He stays when he doesn’t have to stay,

It’s me that he chooses to stay with,

What can I say?

All I can say is, “I’m thankful that he chose me to put up with.”
