The Door (Poem)

I wait at the door,

Will the door open?

I’m greeted at the door,

I get an apology when the door is open,

I stare with disappointment at the door.

I get back on the train,

I do my best to admire the scene on my way to another door,

Hoping that I beat those taking the same train,

Which one of us would get accepted at the door?

How long would I keep stopping in this train?

I admit that it can be hard to admire the scene,

I forget to see the lesson in the stops,

All I keep replaying is the closed door scene,

It makes it hard to smile at the stops,

Still I keep smiling at the rejection scene.
